Popular big band leader (1904–1944). In 1942, Miller joined the U.S. Air Force and organized the Glenn Miller Army Air Force Band to entertain the troops. In December 1944, on a flight from England to Paris, the plane Miller was traveling in disappeared over the English Channel and was never found. Vintage 8 x 10 Bluebird/RCA promotional photo of Miller playing his trombone, signed and inscribed in fountain pen “To Mary, Sincerely, Glenn Miller.” In very good condition, with missing lower right corner, and scattered creases and surface marks, none affecting signature.
