Partly-printed vellum DS as president, one page, 15.5 x 19, February 1, 1888. President Cleveland appoints John Furey a “Quartermaster with the rank of Major.” Signed at the conclusion by Cleveland, and countersigned by Secretary of War William C. Endicott. Intersecting folds, a bit of light toning, and scattered light creasing and wrinkling, otherwise fine condition. The blue seal is slightly worn and mostly intact. Pre-certified John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
