TLS signed “RN,” one page, 7.25 x 10.5, personal letterhead, July 27, 1992. Letter of thanks to Proctor Jones with Nixon handwriting the greeting “Dear Proctor.” In part: “I cannot qualify as an expert on economic issues, but the letter you wrote to President Yeltsin last September made a great deal of sense to me. A tribute to your Bohemian Grove speech on July 25, 1984, is that it reads as well today as it did then. We sometimes forget that the nation that produced Stalin in the 20th century gave the world Tolstoy, Dostoyevsky, Pushkin, and Tchayskovsky [sic] in the 19th century. You are one of the few who recognized early on how much the Americans and Russians have in common.” In fine condition. Nixon had visited the Soviet Union as president in 1972 to address the topic of nuclear peace and apparently shared Jones’s same ideas on the Russians.
