Description

Extremely rare uninscribed signed portrait of modern dance's tragic pioneer

Pioneer of modern dance, encouraging a spontaneous personal style. After European concert successes, she founded schools of dancing in Gemany, the USSR, and the US. She was strangled by a scarf caught in a car wheel in 1927. Vintage 3.5 x 5.5 postcard photo, signed in black ink, “Very sincerely, Isadora Duncan, Jan 31–1904.” In fine condition, with small crease through a portion of last name of signature and a crease to top left corner. Signed photos of Duncan are quite scarce; uninscribed examples are rarer still. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
