Description

Kennedy renders assistance with the State Department

TLS, one page, 8 x 10.25, United States Senate letterhead, June 15, 1956. Letter to a constituent regarding a visa application. In full: “Supplementing my letter to you of May 28th, I am enclosing herewith copy of communication which I have received from the Department of State on the case of your brother-in-law, George Provos. In accordance with the information extended by Mr. Gerety, I would suggest that you forward the data he has requested at your earliest possible convenience and, upon receipt of same, I shall be most happy to submit it to the Department once again requesting their favorable consideration in Mr. Provos’ behalf.” Stapled to Kennedy’s letter is a carbon of Mr. Gerety’s letter to Kennedy regarding the information to be forwarded. Intersecting folds, one through a single letter of signature, scattered creases and wrinkles, and a staple to top left corner, otherwise fine condition. A wonderful example of Kennedy’s genuine concern for his constituents. Pre-certified John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
