Often called ‘the poor man’s John Barrymore,’ William (1894–1948) a slender, striking, sharp-featured leading man was most successful playing unmitigated cads, but also made his mark as Perry Mason and The Lone Wolf. Vintage glossy 8 x 10 photo, signed and inscribed in-person in fountain pen “To Saul, Sincerely, Warren William.” Reverse of photo bears collector’s stamp date of May 6, 1939, the date the signature was acquired. In very good condition, with scattered surface marks and impressions, as well as a few creases. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
