One of the hardest working character actors (1887–1972), he worked right up until his death. He appeared in such films as A Christmas Carol, Mary Poppins and A Tale of Two Cities. He was also one of only four actors to play both Sherlock Holmes and his companion Dr. Watson. Vintage glossy 8 x 10 MGM publicity photo, signed and inscribed in-person in fountain pen “To Saul, with best wishes, Reginald Owen.” Reverse of photo bears collector’s stamp date of July 29, 1940, the date the signature was acquired.
