Matinee idol of the silent era (1897–1970) who had little difficulty transitioning to talkies and spent the next several decades being very well received in high profile films as a character actor. In 1940, Nagel was given an Honorary Academy Award for his work with the Motion Picture Relief Fund. Vintage glossy 8 x 10 photo, signed and inscribed in-person in fountain pen “To Saul – Sincerely, Conrad Nagel.” Reverse of photo bears collector’s stamp date of May 22, 1935, the date the signature was acquired. In fine condition, with some scattered light creases and surface marks. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
