The Pueblo commander recognizes his crew members "receive long-past-due recognition for their dedication, loyalty, and honorable service our country throughout their brutal captivity"

Commander of the spy ship USS Pueblo (1927–2004). TLS, signed "L. Bucher," one page, 8 x 10.5, USS Pueblo letterhead, May 25, 1990. Letter of thanks for a donation. In part: "Your generous gift to the Pueblo Funds was most helpful…Twenty-four of the sixty-four men who attended the Prisoner-of-War Medal Ward ceremony in San Diego were provided assistance. Those former crewmen were thus able to join their shipmates in public ceremony and receive long-past-due recognition for their dedication, loyalty, and honorable service our country throughout their brutal captivity in North Korea in 1968."; and two endorsed checks, both written to Bucher, both endorsed on the reverse.
