Lee’s customer copy of a BankAmericard credit card receipt, 7.25 x 3.25, dated April 5, 1969, for a $13.97 purchase by Lee at the Pickwick Book Shop, signed at the bottom in pencil by Lee. Receipt is housed in a removable Lucite holder; and a scarce DS, one page, 8.5 x 5.5, January 22, 1993. An invoice for a “program” from a cellular phone company in Wilmington, North Carolina, signed at the bottom in blue ballpoint by Brandon Lee. Wilmington, North Carolina, was where The Crow was then being filmed at Carolco Studios. Both are nicely double matted and framed together with a photo of Bruce and Linda Lee posing with a young Brandon, and a certificate of authenticity signed by Linda Lee, dated February 29, 2000, reading, “I, Linda Lee, verify the authenticity of the Bruce Lee credit card receipt dated 4-5-69 for Books from Picwick [sic] Books. It is a genuine and original Bruce Lee autograph.” Light overall wrinkling and creasing to both pieces, a light yellow highlighter line through lower portion of Brandon’s signature, as well as a vertical fold, otherwise fine condition.
Bruce Lee’s bookstore visit was made a few days before his guest-starring role on the western/comedy series Here Come The Brides (his only dramatic role not involving martial arts), and exactly two weeks before the arrival his daughter Shannon, whose birth energized the actor following the cancellation of The Green Hornet. Baby Shannon joined Bruce and Linda Lee and her older brother Brandon, who went on to achieve praise as an actor and martial artist—and eerily like his father perish tragically. Brandon was in North Carolina to begin filming the lead role in The Crow on February 1, 1993...a little over a week after he selected a cell phone service provider. The Crow would be Lee's last film—and the one in which he would be accidentally shot and killed. A unique and desirable combination. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
