Signed and inscribed in French on the half-title page, with Cocteau adding an avant-garde original sketch of a woman's face under his signature. In very good condition, with mild toning to signed page, gift presentation and signatures opposite the signed page, and light rubbing to covers, heavier along spine. Les Parents Terribles is a 1938 French play written by Cocteau. Despite initial problems with censorship, it was revived on the French stage several times after its original production, and in 1948 a film adaptation directed by Cocteau himself was released.
