In part; "We would like to send congratulations right back at you for the Oscar you won, and for your tasty and expert handling of the musical end of the presentation ceremony. We have heard Academy broadcasts for many years, and your musical job was the smoothest of all."; and an AMQS, signed by Jay Livingston, on an FDC with a color silk cachet honoring Christmas 1982. Livingston pens two bars of music to 'To Each His Own.' In fine condition. Letter is accompanied by the original mailing envelope. A cordial letter from one of music's most prominent writing teams.
Livingston and Evans had just won the Oscar for Best Original Song for 'Buttons and Bows' from the Bob Hope and Jane Russell film, The Paleface. Green himself was celebrating his first Oscar from the same year for Best Scoring of a Musical Picture for Easter Parade. RRAuction COA.
