Manuscript DS, with final two paragraphs written in Lincoln’s hand, signed twice by Lincoln, “Lincoln & Fuller p.d.,” one page both sides, 8 x 12.75, April 1855. A plea in the case of James T. Ayers vs. John W. Brown and Thomas Brown. Lincoln writes the final two paragraphs of this legal brief for the sixth and seventh plea. In part: “And for replication to said sixth plea, plaintiff says precludi non, because he says the property in the declaration mentioned, was not adjudged by the court not to be the property of the plaintiff herein, as is in that plea alleged; and of this the plaintiff prays may be enquired of by the court & c. Lincoln & Fuller p.d.” In fine, clean condition, with several horizontal folds, and some scattered light discoloration to page. All of Lincoln’s text is clear and boldly penned.
