Farm worker, labor leader, and civil rights activist (1927–1993) who co-founded the United Farm Workers (UFW). Signed book: Cesar Chavez: Autobiography of La Causa by Jacque E. Levy. Later printing. NY: W. W. Norton & Company, Inc., 1975. Hardcover with dustjacket, 6.25 x 9.5, 546 pages. Signed and inscribed in black felt tip on the half-title page, 'Best wishes to the Yakima Co. Dems Central Committee, Cesar E. Chavez, 1–28–86.' Accompanied by a TLS on UFW letterhead January 29, 1986. Chavez writes the Yakima County Democratic Central Committee. In part: 'I am honored that you asked me for this small contribution. I sincerely hope that it will help your most worthy cause.' In fine condition, with light wear and clipped corner to the dust jacket. RRAuction COA.
