"I only hope that I may not cause you any trouble or inconvenience by my visit"

Author, suffragette, dramatist, poet, and biographer (1819–1910), best remembered as the lyricist of ‘Battle Hymn of the Republic.’ ALS, two pages on two adjoining sheets, 4 x 6, April 19, 1900. In part: 'You are most kind in inviting me to your house. I only hope that I may not cause you any trouble or inconvenience by my visit. I remember your Grandmother very well, and also your Aunt.' In fine condition, with several spots of glue and paper residue along the right edge of the second page just touching the end of her name. RRAuction COA.
