Description

Black ink signature, “Richard Nixon” on an off-white 6.25 x 6 sheet, to which was later added a quote from President Nixon’s widely-quoted remarks after the Kent State shootings, given on May 4, 1970, which reads, “You see these bums, you know, blowing up the campuses. Listen, the boys that are on the college campuses today are the luckiest people in the world, going to great universities and here they are, burning up the books, I mean, storming around about this issue.” Sheet also bears a well-known image from the Kent State events, as well as two small presidential seals.” In fine condition, with an inexplicable light Nixon signature remnant lying beneath Nixon’s bold signature, perhaps the result of signing another item placed on top of this page. Pre-certified John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
