Description

Early Universal portrait, signed at the launch of their career

Vintage glossy 8 x 10 Universal Pictures publicity photo from 1941 of the smartly-dressed comedians smiling broadly, signed and inscribed in black ink “To ‘Jim’ your pals, Bud Abbott,” and “Lou Costello.” In very good condition, with light irregular adhesion to inscription, scattered light surface marks and creases, light rubbing to finish, and some scattered light silvering. In 1941, Abbott and Costello would have their first starring role in Buck Privates, making them among the most popular and highest-paid entertainers in the world during World War II. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
