Description

Attorney (1786–1875) and son of Alexander Hamilton who served in the War of 1812 and later as US district attorney in Florida and as land commissioner. ALS signed “A. Hamilton,” one page, 8.25 x 10.25, March 2, 1838. In part: “The Whigs are most unexpectedly in hopes of carrying Old Virginia and then I suspect they will.” In very good condition, with mild to moderate creasing, toning, edge chipping, and scattered paperclip rust stains. Pre-certified John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
