One of Japan’s most skilled fliers, Fuchida (1902–1976) commanded the air attack against Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, and was the last to leave the battle area. After World War II, Fuchida converted to Christianity and became a nondenominational preacher, traveling frequently to America and later becoming a US citizen. Postal cover signed in blue ink, Capt. Mitsuo Fuchida, adding his signature in Japanese, as well as “Luke 23:34.” In fine condition with the original recipient’s postal address in Germany typed at the bottom right of the envelope.
