Kathy told me our Advance team is heading out to Dixon tomorrow and that they will be working with all of you on the details of the trip. Also, Jim Hooley has assured her that everyone involved in the renovating of the Reagan Boyhood Home will play some part in the day’s activities, so don’t be concerned about the possibility of Jean and some of the other wives being left out.

Reagan’s Illinois boyhood home was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982 after a group of local residents purchased the residence. To celebrate his 73rd birthday on February 6, 1984, the president returned home to the Rock River Valley to visit with old friends like Thompson. It marked the only trip to Dixon that Reagan would make while in office. Great content as the White House resident looks back on his years in another ‘white house’ in a sleepy Illinois town.
