Renowned college football coach (1908–1973) who, after serving as an assistant at Georgetown, Michigan State, and Fordham, became head coach at Boston College. In 1941, he became head coach and athletic director at Notre Dame, his alma mater. In his 13 years at Notre Dame, Leahy’s teams won 107 games, lost 13, and tied 9. In part: “Many thanks for your recent letter dated September 11th. Deeply appreciate your thoughtfulness in conveying your best wishes on the arrival of our latest son…Best wishes and good luck to you in school and on the athletic field.” In fine condition, with some mild toning along top edge and top right corner.
