Vintage matte-finish 8 x 10 photo of an artist’s portrait of Edison, signed and inscribed in the lower border in fountain pen “To Clarence E. Wunder, Thos. A. Edison.” Photo is affixed to a slightly larger mount and matted to an overall size of 8.75 x 10.75. In fine condition, with mild horizontal rippling to image, a bit of light border soiling, and a crease to lower left corner. The recipient, Clarence Wunder, is most likely the renowned Philadelphia architect responsible for the design of Temple Stadium. The stadium opened in 1928 and was used for several years by Temple University, as well as the Philadelphia Eagles. As bold an Edison ‘umbrella’ signature as you will find.
