Description

Earhart joins 11 other 1930 aviation record breakers on a Washington Aero Club cover

Red, white, and blue bordered air mail envelope, hand-stamped “The Aero Club of Washington, D. C., Welcoming American Fliers Who Made World Aviation Records in 1930, February, 4, 1931,” signed in ink by twelve aviators including Amelia Earhart, Elinor Smith, Marion Eddy, Apollo Soucek, L. F. ‘Lee’ Zimmerly, Clarence O. Post, Paul W. Clough, and Boris Sergievsky. Envelope is also addressed in an unknown hand to “J. Venturi, Teaneck, N.J.,” and bears Washignton, D.C. and Teaneck, N.J. postmarks. In fine condition, with a uniform shade of toning, and a bit of scattered light soiling. Accompanied by a two page description of each flier’s accomplishments in 1930. A possibly one-of-a-kind assemblage of early aviation pioneers. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
