Slight, sad-looking character actor (1935–1978) best known for his screen debut as Fredo, the weak-willed son of Don Corleone, in Francis Ford Coppola's classic The Godfather. Cazale holds a singular distinction in the annals of Hollywood history: All six films in which he appeared (including an archival appearance in The Godfather, Part III) were nominated for Best Picture.
