Description

First man on the moon signs an X-15 cover postmarked on his launch day

Rare vintage commemorative cover with a stamped cachet honoring the X-15 program, signed in black ink by Armstrong circa 1962. Cover also bears a July 26, 1962, Edwards Air Force Base postmark, the date of Armstrong’s X-15 flight. In fine condition, with a couple light bends and a small pencil address in another hand to lower right. On this flight, Armstrong’s speed reached 3989 mph. An early memento from a pilot who went on to much bigger things. Pre-certified Scott Cornish and RRAuction COA.
