Vintage glossy 8 x 10 photo of Glenn posing in his Mercury spacesuit in front of a radar station, signed and inscribed in black ink “Best regards to Guenter, best ‘Pad Fuehrer’ in the business, with many thanks for a job well done during the MA-6 mission of Friendship 7, J. H. Glenn, Jr.” Photo has been decoupaged to a 12 x 14 board. In good condition, with uniform overall toning, and irregular ink adhesion to signature and inscription from decoupaging process, resulting in signature and inscription being fairly light, but mostly legible. Photo originates from Guenter Wendt’s personal collection, and bears his initials on the reverse of the board. Despite the condition, a highly important photo with great relation between an astronaut and one of the most recognizable names in the space industry, whose face was the last many astronauts saw before leaving Earth.
