Unique four-page Western Union telegram, 8 x 5.5, sent to the Honorable Ralph M. Lovell, a Maine state senator, inviting him to view the launch of Apollo 5. In part: “You are cordially invited to observe the launching of the Apollo 5 space vehicle on Moonday [sic] January 22 1968. This flight will be the first test in space of the Apollo spacecraft lunar module. This vehicle is designed to land astronauts on the moon and return them safely to earth. This test will be an unmanned Earth orbital flight from Cape Kennedy, Florida.” In very good condition, with moderate toning, old tape repair at most of the edges and corners, and some missing corners and chips.
