Four one-page TLSs, all signed “George,” three 6.5 x 8.5 and one 7.5 x 10.5, dating from 1979 to 2000, all to his friend Cy Laughter. The 2000 letter states “I am totally out of George’s campaign schedule, but I did send your letter to Joe Allbaugh, his top man.” obviously referring to his son George W.’s presidential campaign. The 1979 letter reads, “Thanks for the political intelligence on Pitchless and Rhodes. I’d love to have them both on the Bush team. Keep hitting for me and I know we’ll make it.” A 1998 letter reads, in part: “I am very pleased you liked the A&E/Frost interview. I have great confidence in David Frost…Now this program will become a permanent part of the archives at my Library at Texas A&M.” The remaining letter concerns a Bogie Busters golf tournament. In fine condition, with some light creasing to letters. A nice collection of personal correspondence. RRAuction COA.
