Description

Reed digs into her family history: “Chas. A was involved in the underground railway in N.C. for the blk. Slaves. Do you remember where or from whom you learned this?”

ALS signed “Donna,” one page both sides, 6.5 x 7, personal letterhead, October 6, 1984. Letter to her cousin Ferne concerning family history. In part: “The Chas A. Story also alluded to something I have heard you mention a few years ago; that Chas. A was involved in the underground railway in N.C. for the blk. Slaves. Do you remember where or from whom you learned this? The Coffins were definitely involved.” At the top of the front, Reed also writes: “My first ‘Dallas’ will be Nov. 9.” In fine condition, with a central horizontal fold. Scarce letter with fascinating geneological undertones. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
