Description

Exquisite and sultry Marilyn photo from her early Hollywood career

Striking vintage matte-finish 8 x 10 photo of Monroe in a low-cut strapless gown, her face and figure bathed in soft light, signed and inscribed, “To Bob, With Luck & Love, Marilyn Monroe” (the inscription is in ballpoint; Marilyn switched to a much bolder fountain pen for her signature and sentiment). In fine condition, with scattered light silvering to darker areas and some moderate contrast to first name of signature.

A brief notation—“Bob Magill”—on the reverse of the image gives some hint as to the original recipient. Magill was a sports photographer specializing in motorcycle races in the late 1940s and early 1950s...and presumably a fan of the blonde bombshell. A visually stunning and mesmerizing image. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
