Description

Roger Chaffee

Naval pilot and astronaut (1935–1965) who was one of three crew members who perished in the Apollo 1 command module fire on January 27, 1967. Color glossy 8 x 10 NASA ‘red-numbered’ photo of Chaffee in a jacket and tie, signed in black felt tip. In fine condition, with some scattered light surface dings and impressions, not detracting from overall appearance. Any NASA numbered photo is indicative of being an original NASA photograph, and red-numbered NASA glossies are very desirable, and harder to find. Pre-certified Scott Cornish and RRAuction COA.
