Fourteen-time Academy Award nominee, winning the Award in 1967 for his score for Thoroughly Modern Millie. Other nominated scores include The Man with the Golden Arm, The Magnificent Seven, Summer and Smoke, To Kill a Mockingbird, The Return of the Seven, Hawaii, and True Grit. Glossy 8 x 10 publicity photo, signed and inscribed in black felt tip; and a one-page TLS, 7.25 x 10.5, dated February 11, 1963. In part: “Just a brief note to extend my personal thanks to you and your fellow members for the warm hospitality shown Mrs. Bernstein and myself at the recent Golden Globe nominations cocktail party.
