Description

Frances Cleveland

ALS signed “Granny,” two pages both sides, 5.5 x 7, February 18, 1944. Letter to Dee Dee Cleveland. In part: “My present eye condition will explain my poor writing & also the fact that I haven’t written you for such a long time…I hope you had a restful & happy holiday…Of course you know what a poor year and a half I have had, topped with the eye operation on Oct. 25 and the long healing process delayed by a month of miserable sinus, the worse possible on top of a cataract operation - but there seems light ahead, which means glasses…Of course I saw Marion, and Grover, and Francis…My! Those children are working hard on their chicken proposition. I had such a good time with them the last month…and got very attached to the hundreds of chickens.” In fine condition. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope, hand-addressed and free franked by Cleveland, “Frances F. Cleveland Preston Free.” Pre-certified John Reznikoff/PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
