An original Robert Spring forgery of a George Washington DS, signed “Go. Washington,” 4.25 x 2.75. In part, “Permission is granted to Mr. Lawrence and his negro boy Sam to pass and repass the picket at Ranapo.” In very good condition, with intersecting folds, a small tear along the bottom vertical fold, areas of heavy soiling, and show-through from mounting residue on the reverse.
