Beautician who developed the highly successful cosmetic line that bears her name. Collection of 22 TLSs, almost all one page, dating from 1941 up to 1965, and two small signed personalized note cards with handwritten sentiments. All written to Nelle Stadler, a Hollywood Arden representative. Arden has also added short handwritten postscripts to a couple of the letters. A small sampling follows: September 16, 1958: “I am more delighted than I can say to hear the wonderful news that you have just marked your 25th anniversary with Elizabeth Arden and your words have touched me deeply.” September 10, 1960: “I can’t wait to get back to normal and on with the job! The prospects for fall and winter have never been so good and together we shall achieve a record-breaking season for Elizabeth Arden! I know I can count on all of you in Los Angeles to do your share.” April 28, 1961: “I am off to Kentucky next week for the Derby. Unfortunately I do not have a horse in the race but I shall be able to see my horses at the farm and the new spring babies!…Gun Burst runs at Garden State on Saturday…and I shall be there to see him. I just hope he wins. The horses at Belmont have not done anything yet ….” September 26, 1961: “I hope you were able to watch Kennedy’s inspiring speech. I was at the U.N. to hear him. The applause was terrific but the Russians just sat there like grizzly bears! They did not move a muscle. What a mess the world is in but we must just be very firm.” In very good overall condition, with some creasing and toning to the letters on onionskin paper. Accompanied by two high quality unsigned vintage photos of a youthful Arden. A shining example of how Arden’s personal relationships with her sales agents helped make her one of the wealthiest women in the world at the peak of her career. RRAuction COA.
