TLS, one page, 8 x 10, Skibo Castle letterhead, August 27, 1898. Carnegie writes to Thomas Charles Hedderwick, a Scottish politician and at the time a Member of Parliament. In full: “Sorry I am engaged all today. Would you kindly see that the enclosed invitation to accompany you to dinner is delivered to Professor Wilson.” Scattered handling wear, intersecting mailing folds, and a touch of toning along the horizontal fold, otherwise fine condition.
