Ban Johnson

Baseball executive who served as the founder and first president of the American League. He was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1937 as one of its charter members. DS, signed “B. B. Johnson,” two pages, 8.5 x 11, January 10, 1921. Contract between New York’s American League club and Robert Tecarr for the 1922 season, with Tecarr receiving a salary of $400.00 per month. Signed on the docket panel by Johnson, approving the agreement. In very good condition, with partial separations to horizontal folds, a uniform shade of toning, and some scattered light soiling. Pre-certified Steve Grad/PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
