Disney politely declines a story idea from a Missouri riverboat captain

TLS, one page, 6.5 x 8, personal letterhead, October 28, 1955. Letter to E. J. Melton, at the Record and Missourian in Boonville, Missouri. In full: “Thank you for your letter of September 13, 1955 together with your book, TOWBOAT PILOT, which was referred to our story department for perusal. Their report indicated that this material would not fit into our present format, however, we do appreciate your bringing it to our attention.

I wish to thank you for sending me an autographed copy which I shall place in our studio library.”

Double suede matted and framed, with a portrait of Disney, a small plaque, and a Towboat Pilot dustjacket, to an overall size of 33 x 19.5. In fine condition. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Phil Sears. Oversized. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
