Ink signature, “Cassius M. Clay, White Hall, Ky.,” on an off-white 3.5 x 2.25 card. Both sides of card also bear detailed collector’s notations by Charles Hedges of where and when signature was acquired. In part: “This autograph was presented to Gen’l Benj. Harrison by Mr. Clay on the occasion of his visit with Gen’l Harrison, Feby 14th, 1889…He made a social call on Gen’l Harrison…and left him this autograph which the General personally presented me.” In fine condition, with a bit of scattered light toning and soiling. A scarce and well-documented signature. RRAuction COA.
