Description

Georgia O’Keeffe

Partial autograph letter, two pages, 8.5 x 11, January 12, 1968. First two pages of a letter to her sister Anita. In part: “If anything happens to you I can not afford to have that many paintings out of my hands unless I can get paid for them if I need money. I don’t know if I could get the paintings out of your house or not if you were not there—It seems to me you had better plan to give the Boston Museum and The National Gallery paintings that you already own…I think we must try to make it work that way—that you plan to give what you own. I have been under the covers for over a week with the flu. Am creeping about now feeling fairly good. Hope to dress tomorrow. Can you send me 10000.xx now …” In fine condition. Accompanied by a mailing envelope, addressed in O’Keeffe’s hand, postmarked 1966. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
