Mitsuo Fuchida

One of Japan’s most skilled fliers, Fuchida (1902–1976) commanded the air attack against Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, and was the last to leave the battle area. After World War II, Fuchida converted to Christianity and became a nondenominational preacher, traveling frequently to America and later becoming a US citizen. Ink signature, “Capt. Mitsuo Fuchida,,” on an off-white card, adding his signature in Japanese, as well as “Luke 23:34.” A Japanese postage stamp has been affixed to the center of the card. Suede matted and framed with two photos and a biographical plaque, to an overall size of 18.75 x 17. In fine condition, with a couple of trivial spots, none affecting signature. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
