William Irvine

He served as a brigadier general in the Continental Army and represented Pennsylvania in both the Continental Congress and the United States House of Representatives and was an intimate friend of George Washington’s. Forty-four checks from the Society of the Cincinnati, each filled out in another hand and signed by its treasurer Wiliam Irvine. All the checks are drawn on a Bank of the United States account and date between 1803 -1804. In very good condition, with cancellation cuts to bodies of checks, some affecting signatures, and some scattered light toning. RRAuction COA.
