Description

Former chief executive eulogizes the director of his favorite film ‘High Noon’

TLS, one page, 6.25 x 9.25, personal letterhead, February 23, 2001. Letter to Karen Kramer, the widow of film director Stanley Kramer. In part: “Hillary and I were deeply saddened to learn of your husband’s death, and our hearts go out to you and your family.

Stanley was an astonishingly gifted director and producer. Throughout four decades, his movies not only entertained viewers—they also challenged us by addressing important social issues like race and religion. As you probably know, ‘High Noon’ has always been my favorite movie, and I have a great respect for his many other films as well.

Stanley’s death is a great loss not only for you and your family…he has left a legacy or artistic achievement that will delight and uplift audiences for years to come.” In fine condition, with mild crease to lower right corner. A heartfelt letter from Clinton. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
