Nap Lajoie

Baseball Hall of Famer. During his 21-year career as a second baseman (1896–1916), mostly with the Cleveland Indians, he posted a lifetime batting average of .339. In 1901, he batted .422, highest ever in a season in the American League. Vintage fountain pen signature, “Napoleon Lajoie, 1-25-37,” on an off-white 3.75 x 3 slip. Five spots of light paper loss from removal of mounting remnants, one affecting first number of date, otherwise fine condition. Pre-certified Steve Grad/PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
