Scalloped-top vellum partly printed DS, signed as president, “M. Van Buren,” one page, 11.5 x 15, September 27, 1839. A ship’s pass issued to the “Brig Meridian of Wareham [Massachusetts], James Harvey Ricketson, master or commander of the burthen of 72 & 89/95 tons or thereabouts mounted with no guns navigated with 16 men.” In very good condition, with intersecting folds, scattered light toning and soiling, and mild creases and wrinkles.
