The captain in charge of the Alamo’s artillery who died after warning his wife: “All is lost”

ADS, signed “Almeron Dickinson,” one page, 8 x 2.5, September 23, 1835. Promissory note written out and signed by Dickinson. In full: “One day after date I promise to pay James Patrick the sum of Thre [sic] dollars and fifty cents for value received.” Signed at the conclusion by Dickinson, and endorsed and signed perpendicular to the text, “Geo. W. Davis.” Reverse bears three additional endorsements as well. In good condition, with professional repair to complete bisecting horizontal separation, scattered toning and soiling, rough bottom edge, and a couple light creases crossing through small portions of signature.
