Signer of the Declaration of Independence from Pennsylvania (1742–1798). In 1789, he became one of the original nine justices appointed by Washington to the Supreme Court. Partial ADS, signed in the text, one page, 7.75 x 1.25, no date. Signed portion reads: “…obtained for the same and as soon as may be on their or either of their effecting a sale of the whole or any part of the Premises from time to time to notify the said James Wilson therewith and of the terms ….” Irregular top edge, and a circular spot of toning to left side of signed side, otherwise fine condition.
