ALS signed “Bob, Robert Stroud, #594,” one page, lightly-lined both sides, 8 x 10.5, July 19, 1957. Stroud writes to his sister Mamie. In part: “I have not had any news from any one this week and have little to write about. I do nothing but read and study. I am still working on Cicero every morning and after dinner I read and the same in the evening. The book I am reading now is one of the best descriptions of human beings I have ever read, and this fellow who writes it, Jorge Fernandez, is describing life in Ecquador, but it could be anywhere, some of the screws could have been taken from my life or from yours.” Stroud’s full signature appears again in the return address area of the letter. In fine condition, with intersecting mailing folds, two through single letters of signature, and a small stamp to front. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
