Description

Pioneer Beat writer “John Kerouac” studies Greek tragedy

Signed book: The House of Atreus (translated by E. D. A. Morshead). Later printing. London: Macmillan and Co., Ltd., 1924. Hardcover, 4.25 x 6.25, 185 pages. Signed in pencil on the half-title page as “John Kerouac.” A few of the pages and the rear blanks also bear notations related to the text (likely by Kerouac). Housed in a custom clamshell case. In good to very good condition, with light wear to covers and spine, hinges cracked (signed page somewhat loose), different owner’s ink name to inside front cover, and light staining and soiling to a few pages (not affecting signature). Items signed with Kerouac’s proper name are very seldom encountered. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
