The eldest son of George III, he alienated his subjects with his prodigious spending and contemptuous treatment of his wife, Queen Caroline, whom he refused to admit to his coronation. Vintage ink signature, “George R,” on an off-white 6 x 3 slip clipped from a larger document. Scattered toning and soiling, missing corners, vertical folds passing through his signature, brushes to his name, show-through from writing on the reverse, and old tape on the back from past mounting, otherwise very good condition.
